When I was born on August 14 at 8:18 PM, I was 1 lb., 11 oz.: 744 grams). My little brother, Tavish Anatole Ganter (1 lb., 15 oz; 855 grams) was born right after me at 8:37 PM. Twenty-four hours later, Mom and Dad told the story of our births.
Grandpa arrived about 1/2 an hour after Tavish was born. Grandma arrived almost 24 hours later, and proceeded to take pictures.
My Mom and Dad looked great. It was hard to tell that Mom had given birth less than 24 hours before!
To Grandma's delight, the intensive care nurses broke the rules and allowed her to go with Mom and Dad to meet me and Tavish. She was very excited.
When I was only four days old, my little brother got very sick and died. My Mom and Dad and our family and friends were very sad that Tavish could not stay with us. But they were happy to see me working hard to grow into a strong little girl.
